"I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." Phil. 4:13
The Church Of Ephesus
Church Covenant
Having been led by the Holy Spirit in giving ourselves to God, by Faith in Christ Jesus, and adopting the Words of God as our rule of such faith and practice, we now commit ourselves to do the will of God in this solemn covenant.
We promise by the grace of God, to love and obey Him in all things, to avoid all appearance of evil, to abstain from all sinful amusements and unholy conformity to the world, and to hold fast to things honest in the sight of God.
And on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; We do now, in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into an everlasting covenant as one body in Christ.
We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church, advancement in knowledge, advancement in holiness, and comfort to not only our soul, but the soul of our brothers and sisters in Christ as well:
To promote the church prosperity and spirituality, to sustain its worship, ordinance, discipline, and doctrine;
To contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations starving or in need of revitalization for the word of God.
We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions, to religiously educate our children; to become instrumental in overseeing the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; To walk with awareness of the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and commendable in our demeanor; To avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; To be passionate in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior.
We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; To remember each other in prayer, to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feelings and courtesy in speech; To be slow to make offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay.
We moreover engage to carry out the commitment of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word on a daily basis without hesitation.
In addition with our personal commitment to serve the Lord, we believe and trust in the words from the book of Philippians; chapter 4, verses 4 – 8:
“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
AMEN
